Black Friday is behind us. A black day for our planet invented by big multinationals to get us to consume again, more and with special prices that make us feel like it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. But, in the end in most cases we just end up to pay the right value of the product itself.
This day (mainly in America) people sink (deeper) into debt with credit after buying items they do not need, with money they do not have to impress people who they do not love.
This is not without impact on our planet. The production of greenhouse gases continues to increase with giant enterprises such as Amazon. And to name a number: 30% of the items shipped back by ‘Amazon’s Black Friday 2017 customers’ were destroyed. (Source : Liberation.fr)
Fortunately for us (and the planet) there are amazing alternatives. There is the second hand market (Vinted for example), places where you can repair, or buy from small traders and craftsmen (Etsy for online shopping for example).
